The term ‘basic’ has recently come to mean, well, rather stereotypical and bland. But what isn’t stereotypical and bland is the hilarious Instagram account Bros Being Basic. Basically, it’s pure comedy gold. Bros Being Basic was founded in 2014 by Atlanta-based blogger Ashley Hesseltine and a group of her male friends, which shows men spoofing the clichéd photos that women are often guilty of posting on the photo sharing app.
It has more than 284k followers who see the “basic bros” posting gym selfies, getting their lattes, rocking facial masks with their tiny dogs and overusing hashtags.
