Sadie Robertson is Encouraging Young People to Be Themselves and Live Original

The Duck Dynasty star recently revealed her struggle with body image on her YouTube channel and her message has spread like wildfire.

According to ABC NEWS, Sadie was doing her usual “preaching to herself,” when her sister encouraged her to make a video and share her thoughts on body image issues with the internet. So she did.

“I want to tell you the realty of things: I struggle with jealous. And I struggle with comparing myself to other people. I may be this ‘celebrity status’ or whatever, but I’m just like every single one of you. I am just like any other girl. I look in the mirror and pick out the flaws.”

Sadie’s message aptly captures issues that many girls face today but she also shares a very personal message about faith. During her segment on Good Morning America,  the 17-year-old plainly stated that her faith helped her though her problems.

“I think it’s like important for girls to know that it’s like no matter who you are, what position you’re in, you know, everybody struggles with insecurities and everybody kind of compares themselves to somebody else, if they want to admit it or not. And I just wanted people to know that it’s, like, no matter who you are you can’t reach it by…comparing yourself to other humans. For me, I found that it was through God..the best way that I could do it.”

Sadie isn’t trying to be pushy with her video but she touched on many concerns that teens across the world share and she’s doing a great job of proving that she is a wonderful role model.

Here’s what she had to say…
