Matthew Chalker wanted to surprise his girlfriend with an awesome proposal, so he created an super-sweet mechanical iris aperture engagement ring box – she said yes – because who wouldn’t after that effort?!

It took Matthew over sixty-hours to create this masterpiece, which is based on designs found on Instructables.com, he wrote that he would consider crafting another – if the price were right.
