One man decided to invite people over to his house to write on his van. He advertised it by putting a sign in his front yard, and soon, plenty of different people came to cover his ’86 Volkswagen in drawings. The best part? All of the drawings are pretty great, and have essentially turned his shabby old van into a work of art on wheels. Check out the van’s amazing transformation below.
This guy who owns this ’86 Volkswagen put up a sign inviting people to decorate his van with a black Sharpie. The results are even more fantastic than you can imagine!
Before it got Sharpied, the vintage van was pretty unremarkable. If you think about it, it was basically a blank canvas.
The van owner had eight cases of beer and a ton of Sharpies on hand, hoping that the alcohol would boost people’s creativity.
He claims that none of the people involved are artists, but all of these creatives certainly look serious about their work.
The transformation of the van is pretty impressive.
The artists were allowed to draw whatever they wanted, and what they chose was varied and interesting.
Our favorite part of the van is this amazing squid on the rear.
Artists or not, their artistic skills are undeniable. This is the kind of van that you would be proud to roll around town in. Thinking about letting friends color up your car?
